I'm seeing a strange issue with jEdit - lost text in menus, buttons and the text area.
After launching jEdit when I select a menu and draw my mouse down over it - text disappears.
The same thing occurs in dialogs in text and buttons - for ex: File / Open, drag my
mouse over the Open or Cancel button - the text disappears. Some of the text in an
open file's text area can also disappear when I click on a line.
I've searched the jEdit forum and SourceForge and can't find anyone reporting anything
similar, nor anything in Windows 7 support. This is the only application where I'm
seeing the lost text.
I'm running jEdit version 5.0.1 under Windows 7 and Java 1.8.0_28-b02
I've uninstalled jEdit and launched it with no plugins and default settings - and
see the same thing.
Changing the Utilities / Global Options / Appearance / Swing look & feel to CDE/Motif
helps in the menus and dialogs, but not in the edit text area or the filenames in
tabs of open files. (All the other Swing options show the lost text behavior).
I've tried various compatibility settings in the jEdit shortcut, with no improvement.
The problem occurred out of the blue - one day it was working fine, then ... not.
I'm a long term jEdit user and I'm really only limping by in CDE/Motif mode.
I'll add a couple of screen shots as attachments.
Thanks, Bruce
