I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you mean you want to search for something, see the results, then search for something else and see both the results of the first search and the second search? If so, click the "Toggle Multiple Results" button in the hypersearch window as described in the help file.

ctrl-f
turn on hyperview
search.
multiview
close search box
ctrl-f
where did multiview go?

It looks like it's not sticky if it's a floating window (hypersearch
results).

Perhaps try docking it as a short term solution?

What is this "multiview" you keep mentioning? Do you mean having more than one view open, where "view" is a jEdit window? Or do you mean having several dialogs showing at once? Here's what I see:

Ctrl-F, see Search and Replace dialog
Check Hypersearch button
Click Find, see Hypersearch dialog showing search results
Click close button or X on Search and Replace dialog, still seeing Hypersearch results dialog

Also, when you open a bug report, would you go to Utilities - Settings Directory - activity.log, then copy and paste the first 20 lines or so into the bug report? There are a number of details about your OS and java version that are contained in those lines that would be useful.
